Due to COVID restrictions we are unable to offer this course at this time.

If you are expecting or have a new wee one at home, we are developing a webpage with many helpful materials.
We look forward to the future to once again being able to meeting in person for the live presentation and lively discussion that follows. 

Pet-owning expectant parents commonly have concerns about how their dogs and cats will react to a new baby in the house. Will my pets be anxious or upset? Do I need to worry about my baby being bitten or scratched? Will my pets put my baby's health at risk?

PETS AND BABIES is a class designed to address these, as well as other concerns. You will receive valuable tips to prepare your pets long before your baby is born.

The presentation is FREE and open to the public.

Our staff has offered a one evening class in the past where the topics listed below were covered. At this time, a location and date for future opportunities has not been determined. We will announce in this space when a course is scheduled.

30 minutes    Pet First Aid 100: What is normal? What do I do when it is not normal? Contents of a cat/dog first aid kit.

45 minutes    Pet First Aid 101: Restraint and Bandaging Techniques

45 minutes    Pet First Aid 102: CPR for Cats and Dogs, Heimlich for Pets

60 minutes    Pet First Aid 103: The ABC’s of Dog and Cat Emergencies

35th ANNUAL FIDO & FRIENDS FUN RUN

CARSON PARK, PINE PAVILION - Registration at 11:00 AM; Walk begins at NOON

Come join the fun event as we gather together to celebrate exercising our pets and to raise money to support the Eau Claire Country Humane Association at the same time.

Registration forms will be available at Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital and other Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls veterinary hospitals.

In 1986, the Fido Fun Run was started as our fund raiser for the Eau Claire County Humane Association and has become a popular community event. Always held on a Saturday in May, the number of registrants continues to grow. Each participant receives a t-shirt, and each accompanying pet receives a tag in the shape of a gold star that states "Fido Fun Run." Non-alcoholic drinks, lunch, and desserts are available to purchase to support the shelter. The dogs are treated to yummy dog biscuits!

The 34rd Annual Fido & Friends Fun Run was held on virtually in May, 2020.  More than $25,000 was raised to directly benefit the Eau Claire County Humane Association. All of the funds collected during this event help to care for the many homeless animals that come to the shelter each day.

We all look forward to next years event!!
