PETS AND BABIES
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM in our reception area

Pet-owning expectant parents commonly have concerns about how their dogs and cats will react to a new baby in the house. Will my pets be anxious or upset? Do I need to worry about my baby being bitten or scratched? Will my pets put my baby's health at risk?

PETS AND BABIES is a class designed to address these, as well as other concerns. You will receive valuable tips to prepare your pets long before your baby is born.

The presentation is FREE and open to the public.

Call Oakwood Hills (715-835-0112) or email info@oakwoodhillsanimalhospital.com to register for this class.

Come join the fun event as we gather together to celebrate exercising our pets and to raise money to support the Eau Claire Country Humane Association at the same time.

Registration forms will be available at Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital and other Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls supporting animal hospitals.

You may download a form from the Eau Claire County Humane Association's web site   Fido Fun Run Information

Forms also available at the following supporting pet supply retail stores:

  • PetFoodsPlus
  • PetCo
  • Tropic Waters

In 1986, the Fido Fun Run was started as our fund raiser for the Eau Claire County Humane Association and has become a popular community event. Always held on a Saturday in May, the number of registrants continues to grow. Each participant receives a t-shirt, and each accompanying pet receives a tag in the shape of a gold star that states "Fido Fun Run." Non-alcoholic drinks, lunch, and desserts are available to purchase to support the shelter. The dogs are treated to yummy dog biscuits!

The 23rd Annual Fido Fun Run was held on May 16, 2009. Financially $20,500 was raised to directly benefit the Eau Claire County Humane Association. Statistics for 2009 were: Participation: 325 people, 260 dogs, and at least 1 cat! In 2008, $18,000 (a record year at that time!) was raised. All of the funds collected during this event help to care for the many homeless animals that come to the shelter each day.

We all look forward to next years event!!
