Boarding Information


There's no place like home....but our staff at Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital assures your pet quality care and attention while boarding with us. Our facility is designed to offer the cleanest, most sanitary conditions. We encourage your pets to have fun during their vacation with us!We have separate facilities for feline and canine boarding that are located separately from the feline hospital and canine hospital wards. Each area has its own food preparation space, heating, air conditioning, exhaust fans, and sound system. The following guidelines should answer most common questions and explain our policies. Please ask any of our staff if you have further questions. We encourage you to tour our boarding areas.

Dogs have spacious runs with individual raised beds and privacy screening between kennels which is made of a material that inhibits bacterial growth. Our porcelain tiled floor is tough, durable and easy to clean. The kennels are cleaned twice daily with a high pressure system (similar to a car wash) in which water and disinfectant are used. During these cleaning periods, your dog is taken outside. The floor is squeegeed thoroughly to minimize contact with moisture. They are also allowed outdoors for a break during the middle of the day. Each pet receives a bath prior to release.

Our feline friends are housed in a quiet room containing spacious modules with a fleece padded perch on which to survey the area. Each kennel has a recessed litter box and individual stainless steel feeling bowls. Cats in our care are fed premium quality veterinary diets. Our kennel attendants spend time each day taking to and playing with the cats. We also give out toys to keep them from becoming bored during their visit.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

We feed premium quality veterinary diets to our boarders twice daily or we can follow your instructions to maintain a schedule more consistent with home. Stainless steel bowls are used as they are non-porous and easily sanitized. Fresh water is available at all times. We also accommodate special diets, medications, daily treats, and increased or decreased activity needs. Kennel attendant monitor your pet's appetite and eliminations on a daily basis. Any variances are discussed with of the veterinarians and, if necessary, treated accordingly. We always seek an emergency number or name of an emergency contact person should we need to contact you about difficulties your pet may have while in our care.

Place your boarding reservations by calling us during business hours. Pets can be admitted to our facility anytime during regular business hours:                             

Monday - Thursday -- 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Friday -- 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Saturday -- 8:30 - Noon

Pets can be discharged from boarding during regular business hours and additionally on Saturday or Sunday from 5:00 - 5:30 PM.
